The TechAmerica Foundation has a new version of its “Cloud Buyer’s Guide for Government,’ a 30-page document designed for federal cloud investment decision makers, Fedscoop reported Friday.
Jake Williams writes the guidelines include best practices, techniques and strategies available for information technology and contract officers to explore and consider, supplemented by business cases and case studies from the private sector perspective.
The document also includes a map of cloud services and a section on security issues program managers should look into when shopping for providers.
Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., who led the guide’s launching ceremony on Capitol Hill last week, noted the timing of the update in an environment where “cloud computing remains a challenge with the federal government.â€
“It is certainly my intention to continue to encourage (migration to the cloud),â€Â Connolly, a founder and co-chair of the Congressional Cloud Computing Caucus, said Wednesday.
