Information technology teams need to be in constant communication with enterprise leaders to keep in step with the strategic requirements of the business and plan for any changes, Lee Souster, regional account director at Software AG, said Monday.
“If the business is constantly adapting to meet customer demands, then how does the IT department understand what changes will be needed and what effects those changes will have on the services that are already being delivered?†Souster wrote on the company blog.
The executive said the two sides should explore the available tools used by digital enterprises to make sure all stakeholders are on the same page, noting the pitfalls of IT departments that are left to operate with little access to siloed information.
“IT needs to be able to collaborate with the business so it can link business capabilities to supporting applications, technologies and projects to keep IT changes from adversely affecting business operations,” he added.
