Inmarsat has certified L-3 Datron Advanced Technologies‘ satellite antenna products for operation on the Global Xpress broadband communications network.
The companies also agreed to explore new market opportunities for satellite COTM terminals through the second phase of Inmarsat’s GX terminal development program, Inmarsat said Thursday.
Peter Hadinger, Inmarsat president for its U.S. government business unit, said the partnership’s goal is to deliver mobile satellite technologies to public sector customers.
The agreement allows L-3 Datron to collaborate with Inmarsat’s GX technical development group and Inmarsat technology partner iDirect, according to the article.
Inmarsat-5 F1 was launched in December as the first of three satellites in the GX constellation and has completed testing in orbit.
