Northrop’s Kathy Warden: Global Partnerships Could Build Up Cyber Defense

Northrop Grumman believes partnerships among enterprises and governments worldwide could pave the way for building up the defense infrastructures of organizations against cyber attacks.

Kathy Warden, corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman Information Systems, stressed the significance of alliances between the academia, industry and government during the Information Assurance 2014 in London, Northrop said Wednesday.

“No one government or company can effect change alone; It is the product of a diverse set of people and organizations, ideas and solutions coming together,” the executive said.

Warden urged the public and private sectors to further invest in research, education and training initiatives in order to bring new technologies to practical applications.

On that front, she said Northrop plans to expand its U.S. national youth cyber education program to the U.K.

Warden also highlighted partnerships among large, medium and small businesses to consolidate technologies and methods to counter emerging threats.

The vice president also pushed for the softening of laws regulating how companies share data with the government.
