Parsons is collaborating with the Business-Higher Education Forum to create a Greater Washington Cyber Network of cybersecurity professionals from academia, industry and government from Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The company said Friday the network will be an expansion of the BHEF Undergraduate Cybersecurity Network of the University System of Maryland.
The expanded network aimsto bring more opportunities for business disciplines and policies supporting cyber workforce development.
“We value our partnership with BHEF and believe it is a critical component to developing [a qualified cybersecurity] workforce,” said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president.
Parsons will support BHEF in an undergraduate cyber leadership program, which will place students as summer interns with companies in the region and provide them with lectures, seminars and engagement them with their peers and the cyber community.
BHEF is a business and higher education executive organization that pushes for U.S. education and workforce programs.
