Cisco, Kloudtrack and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business have teamed up to develop a sandbox exchange intended to help fulfill various technology guideline requirements of healthcare communities.
The public and private sector healthcare community, as well as medical and life science organizations, will have access to the HealthTech Innovation Sandbox hosting platforms to test and develop various methodologies and systems, the Smith School said Thursday.
“Organizations will be able to utilize the Innovation Sandbox to test sample-sets of data, users, processes and measure value metrics against real-world use case scenarios,” said Michael Shepherd, principal for public sector cloud computing at Cisco Systems.
Users will be able to sample technologies on sandbox systems for weeks to months before academia teams work to assess a technology’s viability and return on investment.
Three Innovation Sandbox environments are scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2014.
