Cisco has appointed Dinesh Malkani, Amit Phadnis and V.C. Gopalratnam to oversee the company’s business in India, covering engineering, sales, information technology and support functions, in support of the country’s national transformation efforts.
The company said June 5 Malkani will serve as president of sales, Phadnis as president of engineering and site leader and Gopalratnam as president of strategy, planning and operations and chief information officer for Asia Pacific, Japan and greater China.
“With their deep industry experience, the three leaders will lead greater integration between sales, engineering and other functions at the India site, which will ensure stronger commitment to our customers, partners and employees,” said Irving Tan, Cisco president for Asia Pacific and Japan.
Malkani will oversee sales not just in India but also for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation as he succeeds Jeff White in boosting senior-level external engagement to foster Cisco’s market position in the region.
Phadnis will be in charge of the India site’s talent development, employee engagement, university relations and partner ecosystems with engineering and independent software vendors, and Cisco’s enterprise engineering offerings in the country.
Gopalratnam takes a newly created role to align the company’s technology roadmap and internal IT segment, manage infrastructure development and operations and help form curricula with the university relations group, among other responsibilities.
According to Cisco, this new leadership team is expected to drive the company’s efforts to become a transformational partner to the Indian government through external and customer engagement and innovation efforts.
