Aerojet Rocketdyne Tests Rocket Motor for Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center; Tyler Evans Comments

Aerojet Rocketdyne has completed a second solid rocket motor test for the U.S. Air Force’s nuclear weapons center at sea level conditions.

The second Large Class 92-inch diameter, second stage solid rocket motor went through testing at the Utah test and training range at Hill Air Force Base,  Aerojet Rocketdyne said Wednesday.

“This motor firing demonstrates the flexibility of the stage to perform in either a booster or upper stage mode,” said Tyler Evans, Aerojet Rocketdyne vice president of Rocket ShopSM Defense Advanced programs.

Aerojet Rocketdyne built the rocket motor with technologies that work with future strategic propulsion systems.
