The Department of Veterans Affairs has exercised the first two option years of its five-year enterprise licensing agreement with Decision Simulation under agency’s Simulation, Learning, Education and Research Network program.
Decision Simulation and the VA signed the potential $10 million SimLEARN contract in 2012 to connect all VA employees with the simulation training and education program built on the DecisionSim platform, Decision Simulation said Monday.
The program is designed to train VA healthcare professionals such as primary and specialty care, nursing and non-clinical staff on using adult learning and gaming techniques and simulations based on real-world challenges.
“We are honored to be a valued partner in the VA’s effort to improve patient care,” said Bob Yayac, Decision Simulation’s president.
The company is working with prime contractor Catapult Technology, which is handling program management work with the VA.
