TASC has donated $26,000 to Building Homes for Heroes to fund the contruction of a new Florida house for Air Force MSgt. Joseph Deslauriers, who was injured during his tour of duty in Afghanistan.
The company and its employees raised the money through a matching funds campaign for the benefit of Building Homes for Heroes, TASC said Friday.
“We can think of no better way to honor their sacrifice than to contribute to improving the lives of wounded warriors and their families,” said John Hynes, TASC president and CEO.
“We are proud to partner again this year with Building Homes for Heroes, so we can give something back to a veteran who has given so much to defend our security and freedom,” Hynes added.
TASC staff members organized a fundraising picnic Wednesday at the firm’s headquarters in Chantilly, Va. to mark the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
During May, employees also held a lunch, wear-jeans-to-work week and an employee social event at various TASC sites nationwide.
The company raised $22,000 in matching funds in 2013 to help the nonprofit group renovate the house of Army Specialist Andrew Toppin.
