Science Applications International Corp. has won a potential $14 million software and engineering services to help the U.S. Army‘s Surface Deployment and Distribution Command operate ocean cargo deployment software.
The company will also work with the command to connect commercial and military carriers with the Integrated Booking System Software under the potential four-and-eight-month order, SAIC said Wednesday.
U.S. Transportation Command awarded the order to SAIC under the Encore II vehicle and the company will perform work for eight months and up to four additional option years.
Army SDDC users operate the IBS software to deploy ocean cargo for missions, contingencies disaster relief and other humanitarian operations.
The Defense Department established Encore II as part of its effort to transform the military into a network-centric environment for information sharing between the service branches.
