Oracle has partnered with Imagination Technologies to update Java for embedded systems, Internet of Things applications, 32-bit and 64-bit MIPS architectures and systems by utilizing Imagination’s PowerVR graphics.
Imagination said Thursday that bringing Java, such as Oracle Java Development Kit and Oracle Java SE Embedded, to MIPS32 and MIPS64 could help increase usage of Java for networking equipment, mobile devices and other markets.
“Through this new relationship with Imagination, we are strengthening the presence of Java in a range of high-volume markets,” said Nandini Ramani, vice president for Java and Internet of Things at Oracle.
Java is the standard used for content and application development.
