Leidos, and Major League Soccer club D.C. United have announced that they will celebrate Armed Forces Week by setting up and participating in five days of events leading up to Armed Forces Night, Leidos said Thursday.
The events will take place May 12-17 and include an armed forces clinic, first team open training, armed forces retirement home visit, D.C. United players visiting a USO Warrior Center, TAPS care package making and Armed Forces Night at the D.C. United versus Montreal Impact game at RFK Stadium, according to the release.
“We’re grateful for any opportunity to give back to those who serve our country and we’re proud to work with D.C. United to honor members of the military and their families,†said John Jumper, Leidos CEO.
“Throughout Armed Forces Week, D.C. United and Leidos have scheduled daily events that will allow our troops and their families to engage with the team and its fans,” said Tom Hunt, D.C. United Chief Operating Officer.
“We welcome all those who currently serve or who have served to come to RFK Stadium on May 17th and be part of the festivities,†Hunt added.
