Globecomm Systems has received a delivery order from the U.S. Army‘s program executive office for command, control and communications-tactical for 65 satellite modems and 550 modem upgrade kits for the Warfighter Information Network – Tactical network.
The Army awarded the order under its potential five-year, $10 billion Global Tactical Advanced Communications Systems indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, Globecomm said Thursday.
“We are proud to have been selected amongst our GTACS competitors and entrusted to support mission-critical turn-key communications systems and equipment in support of our Warfighters’ needs via this contract vehicle,” said Keith Hall, Globecomm chairman and CEO.
The modems and upgrade kits will be used to support WIN-T satellite communications terminals used by military forces, Central Command and Marine Central Command, among other units.
