The Government Accountability Office has updated its Google Analytics training manual for federal officers looking to evaluate and improve government website usability.
Sarah Kaczmarek, digital communications manager for GAO who spearheaded the writing of the manual, said Thursday the first edition underwent revisions to include “new actionable insights†that reflect feedback from users and updated terminology.
“Since its release, I’ve heard from people working in local, state, and federal offices throughout the country, as well as from public sector workers (abroad),†Kaczmarek said.
“I’m glad to report that the goal of making government websites more useful to the digital citizen resonates with such a wide audience,â€
The GAO official said the new sections were added in as well, including chapters on demographics and interests reports, campaign tracking and using real-time data.
The 65-page document and other Web analytics report resources can be downloaded on the DigitalGov website.
