BlackBerry has introduced new mobility management and security monitoring services for its enterprise platform offering and other mobile device products, GCN reported Friday.
John Breeden II writes users of Android and iOS devices will have access to BlackBerry security features through the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.2 software tool.
“Users of non-BlackBerry devices can now use the secure mail server and browser and can access content safely behind the firewall,” said Jeff Holleran, senior director of enterprise product strategy for BlackBerry, according to the report.
BlackBerry intends for Android and iOS users to separate personal data from business apps for email, contacts, Web browser and document processing tools by using the Secure Work Space application, according to the report.
Breeden writes BlackBerry plans to release the BES12 later in 2014 and expand its security features to Windows 8-based mobile devices.
The enterprise platform will also feature cloud management services for on-premise, public, private and hybrid environments, GCN reports.
