Five Bechtel officials will speak at an international ports conference next week to provide insights on port infrastructure developments in the new millennium.
Walker Kimball, managing director of the company’s global infrastructure business, will lead open the 33rd PIANC World Congress plenary sessions with a keynote speech on the need for innovation to better adapt to ports of the future, Bechtel said Wednesday.
Marco Pluijm. port and marine infrastructure sector manager, will share his research findings on port design guidelines, while Michel Thomet, manager of facilities simulation, will present a case study on intermodal port operations.
Reece Shaw, Bechtel’s manager of port and marine development, will share his views on a post-Panamax transshipment port, while James Denton-Brown, industrial and port planning manager, will unveil research results on LNG ports growth in the African region.
The June 1-5 event will be held in San Francisco and the company expects 600 navigation, waterway and port experts.
