Siemens has donated nearly $660 million in software products to several Massachusetts-based technical colleges and universities to train students on product design and manufacturing.
The in-kind software grant provides university students access to Siemens’ software applications that work to help users produce aerospace systems, medical devices, ships and consumer products, Siemens said Wednesday.
Chuck Grindstaff, Siemens president and CEO, said Siemens academic partners across Massachusetts will incorporate the firm’s product lifecycle management technology into their schools’ curriculum.
The company also partnered with the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership and the Manufacturing Advancement Center Workforce Innovation Collaborative to prepare students for advanced technical careers.
MassMEP will provide training programs to show students how to manage industrial processes by using the PLM platform, according to Siemens.
