IBMÂ has extended its mobility services portfolio in an effort to help customers build and deploy their mobile offerings.
IBM added new features for security, application development, collaboration and device management to its MobileFirst portfolio, the company said Monday.
Rich Esposito, general manager of mobility services at IBM Global Technology Services, said IBM aims for the expansion to further investments in helping clients grow their business through mobile platforms.
The company seeks to help customers assess their mobile infrastructure environment, manage their application development community and select the devices to be purchased for the users’ requirements.
IBM also added the managed mobility services for clients to minimize the risks associated with the bring your own device and corporate device programs.
End users have access to email, instant messaging, voice and video services for exchanging data, as well as to mobile virtualization services.
The smart and embedded device security service is intended to help enterprises protect mobile applications, IBM says.
