Microsoft has developed three new analytics platforms for organizations to capture and manage large amounts of machine- and human-generated data, Silicon Angle reported Monday.
Saroj Kar writes that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella introduced the Azure Intelligent Systems Service, SQL Server 2014 and Analytics Platform System products last week at a customer event in San Francisco.
“We had to find a way to take machine learning out of the science lab and make it an engineering tool,” said Quentin Clark, corporate vice president for Microsoft’s data platform group.
“That allows us to hope that we can offer machine learning to a much wider audience than has access to it today,” Clark added, according to Kar’s article.
The Azure Intelligent Systems Service is designed to organize data from Internet-connected devices regardless of the operating system used.
Microsoft built the cloud offering to operate with its HDInsight and Power BI for Office 365 platforms.
Silicon Angle reports that the SQL Server includes in-memory technology for helping to address database performance and data access issues.
The APS appliance integrates Hadoop and SQL Server technologies and is designed to export data in Azure and further process data in HDInsight, according to Silicon Angle.
