northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman has signed a memorandum of understanding with University of Sydney to explore common interests related to education, research initiatives and training programs.

Northrop Grumman Australia CEO Ian Irving and University of Sydney Dean of Engineering and Information Technologies Archie Johnston signed the agreement in Sydney, the company announced Tuesday.

Both parties will work together to build up student education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields through executive development programs, collaborative research programs, internship opportunities and technical training.

“Northrop Grumman is also pleased to announce three-year scholarship funding for a postgraduate aerospace engineering student to focus on autonomous systems,” Irving said.

“Our partnership with the University of Sydney highlights Northrop Grumman’s commitment to develop the brightest engineering students in Australia to become world-class leaders in cutting-edge technology that will stimulate research and development and economic growth,” said Irving.
