Northrop Grumman has opened a fresh aircraft integration center in St. Augustine, Fla., where the company has been operating for 34 years.
The site is expected to create 400 new jobs over the next three years, Northrop Grumman said Thursday.
Tom Vice, Northrop Grumman corporate vice president and president of aerospace systems, said the new facility is intended to combine the company’s workforce and manufacturing technologies to serve customers and the state.
The building will be renovated to accommodate another hangar area and new program management offices.
Northrop Grumman plans to complete the construction by early 2015.
Northrop added that St. Augustine is the home of E-2D Advanced Hawkeye production and has been in operation since 1980.
