northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman is hosting a daylong special session at the National Science Teachers Association in Boston from Thursday to Sunday to discuss global issues in science education.

The Global Conversations in Science Education conference is also intended to tackle how teachers can help students understand energy and its impact, Northrop announced Tuesday.

“Professional development is a central tactic in our efforts to give educators tools and experiences that help them increase student interest in science, technology, engineering and math,” said Sandra Evers-Manly, Northrop Grumman Foundation president and Northrop’s vice president of global corporate responsibility.

“We’re delighted to support teachers from here and abroad to attend the conference to inform an international dialogue on STEM education.”

The company will also fund 30 teachers to help resource materials and underwrite costs for the conference’s annual award, the NSTA Aerospace Educators luncheon.

Northrop has also funded two teachers from Australia for roundtrip transportation to the conference, complimentary registration, accommodation for four nights, tickets to selected events and meal reimbursement.
