Lockheed Martin President and CEO Marillyn Hewson and MBDA Germany Managing Director Thomas Homberg spoke at a German Council on Foreign Relations event Monday to discuss an air and missile defense system program.
“For Germany as well as its co-operation partners, the MEADS technology development results create the prerequisites for building sustainable air and missile defense tailored to current and future threats,” Homberg said Monday.
Medium Extended Air Defense System is an air and missile defense system that works to provide a 360-degree, dual-intercept against tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and hostile aircraft.
Hewson also highlighted the collaboration between Germany, Italy the U.S. and industry partners to develop the program.
