LMI_logoThe open source semantic software developed by LMI has won the most innovative technology award in the government category of a months-long competition sponsored by the Northern Virginia Technology Council and The Washington Post.

LMI’s OpenPolicy tool won the Destination Innovation 2014 award for how it helps organize massive data and knowledge in “countless pages of unstructured written prose,” LMI announced Thursday.

“We are thrilled to be recognized at Destination Innovation for OpenPolicy’s innovative, state-of-the-art use of semantic web standards, and are excited to continue making accessible the knowledge found within the millions of pages of government policy and regulation,” said Gus Creedon, LMI program manager.

Through OpenPolicy’s Worldwide Web semantic web standards, its users are able to move beyond the normal ability of search engines to procure only 20% of the information in the web.
