GE’s healthcare division has acquired CHCA Computer Systems, a provider of operating room management and analytics services in a move to grow GE’s software portfolio.
Jan De Witte, president and CEO of GE Healthcare’s information technology business, said Tuesday that CHCA’s Opera software application will be integrated into GE’s OR and Perioperative software portfolio.
De Witte added that the company intends for the acquisition to help clients connect OR workflows by using GE’s software tools.
Montreal-based CHCA designed the Opera application to help collect real-time data and handling surgical procedures.
GE previously purchased API Healthcare.
