A Huntington Ingalls Industries subsidiary has been awarded a potential five-year, $187 million contract to help engineer, repair and maintain equipment for U.S. Navy surface vessels and aircraft carriers.
AMSEC LLC will also provide technical and logistics support services to the Navy’s carrier and surface ship engineering maintenance assist teams, HII said Monday.
The HII subsidiary will perform the work at various Naval homeport sites around the world.
“Our technicians are part of the valuable ‘find-fix-and-train’ philosophy the program has provided for almost 30 years,” said Brad Mason, AMSEC director of maintenance, modernization and technical services.
The Navy’s Norfolk Ship Support Activity, Va. awarded the cost-plus fixed-fee contract with one base year and four option years.
HII says it expects AMSEC to complete the contract work in April 2019.
