Raytheon Co. is awarding nearly 500 of its employees with the U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Award, as part of the company’s celebration of the National Volunteer Week from April 6 to April 12.
The Raytheon employees were chosen for their contributions to the company’s programs over the past year, Raytheon announced Monday.
“We need a new era of responsibility – a recognition on the part of every American that we have duties to ourselves, our Nation, and the world,” President Barack Obama said in a letter to the volunteers.
For the rest of the National Volunteer Week, Raytheon employees will be participating in various MathMovesU programs including mentoring robotics teams, judging cyber competitions and teaching science subjects.
