Cisco has rolled out a cybersecurity service meant to help customers detect advanced persistent threats and protect extended networks from malware intrusions.
The Managed Threat Defense offering is comprised of software, hardware and analytics tools for identifying security risks that cannot be detected by anti-virus programs, Cisco said Tuesday.
A global network of Cisco security operations centers offer incident response analysis, escalation and mitigation strategies to customers, according to Cisco.
Bryan Palma, senior vice president at Cisco Security Solutions, said the offering is also open to value-added resellers under a partner program.
The company designed the service to analyze suspicious traffic patterns by using the Hadoop 2.0 architecture.
Cisco says that Managed Threat Defense also uses the firm’s Advanced Malware Protection, Sourcefire FirePOWER and Cloud Web Security systems.
