Accenture and Siemens have launched a joint venture that will focus on providing smart grid technology and managed services in the energy market.
Munich-based OMNETRIC Group will work to combine Accenture’s consulting and systems integration services with Siemens’ energy management platforms, Accenture said Tuesday.
The integrated offerings are designed to help utilities manage electric grid infrastructures, metering data and demand response programs.
Maikel van Verseveld, a former smart grid services managing director at Accenture, will lead OMNETRIC as its chief executive.
Martin Runge and Carsten Speckmann respectively serve as chief operating officer and chief financial officer for the venture.
