cloud_security_EMAutonomic Resources and Akamai Technologies have partnered to provide cloud computing products to public sector agencies under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, through which both companies hold Joint Authorization Board provisional authorizations.

The companies said Thursday Autonomic Resources Cloud Platform will be combined with Akamai’s DDoS mitigation, web application security and other services to create an end-to-end FedRAMP-compliant tool.

“As government computing efforts continue to become more ‘cloud focused’ it’s important that federal IT staffs have confidence that their applications are designed to be as highly performing and secure as possible,” said Tom Ruff, public sector vice president at Akamai.

The integration is also intended to enable application performance, availability SLA and other real-time metrics.

“Collaboration like this goes to the heart of the ‘do once use many time framework’ of FedRAMP, helping to create a robust marketplace for secure cloud computing services for the US government,” said Matt Goodrich, FedRAMP program manager at the General Services Administration.

ARC-P received a provisional authority-to-operate from the FedRAMP JAB in December 2012, while Akamai received its approval in August 2013.
