Exelis has signed a contract to help the Massachusetts Port Authority implement a suite of web-based information system applications for managing airport and airline operations.
Massport ordered Exelis’ VMAT vehicle tracking platform, MobileVue display system, OpsVue flight data visualization technology and EnvironmentalVue noise monitoring system, Exelis said Monday.
The integrated data and applications suite will be installed at Logan airport and Laurence G. Hanscom Field Airport.
Ted Carniol, Exelis general manager for commercial aviation solutions, said the products are designed to help operators manage air traffic as well as comply with environmental and safety standards.
Exelis will also build a community information exchange portal for users to track actual flights, submit feedback and identify aircraft positions.
The company worked with the Federal Aviation Administration to develop an automatic dependent surveillance broadcast technology.
