Market spending on public safety LTE infrastructure could reach $2 billion per year by 2020 due to increasing demand for the mobile broadband standard, according to new analysis from Reportsnreports.com.
The number of installed base stations will hit almost 155,000 at a 60-percent compound annual growth rate between 2014 and 2020, serving close to 4 million global subscribers, the research firm said said Monday.
The study cited potential challenges of LTE transition and wide-scale deployment, including regional issues that pertain to budgets, the spectrum and regulations, as well factors that could affect the ecosystem.
