Peter Smith, chief operating officer at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, has been elected to join the public sector board of directors at TechAmerica.
The more than three-decade industry veteran will provide counsel on technology strategies for the government IT contracting sector as a TechAmerica public sector board member, AMERICAN SYSTEMS said Monday.
Members of the TechAmerica public sector team work to promote IT knowledge sharing between contractors and government organizations.
Smith served as AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ executive vice president of operations prior to being promoted to COO and managed the company’s portfolio of design and installation, human capital, custom solutions and professional service offerings.
He is also a member of the Potomac Officers Club and the Professional Services Council.
