DiversityBusiness.com has ranked Northrop Grumman as the third-best company out of 50 in the U.S. for providing business opportunities to diverse business owners.
The website’s list of the top 50 companies is based on an online survey of 1.3 million diversity business owners and work to assess company grants for multicultural suppliers, Northrop announced Friday.
Northrop is the highest-ranked aerospace and defense company on the list.
In 2013, Northrop awarded $6.9 billion of contracts to approximately 9,500 suppliers.
Thirty-six percent of Northrop’s procurement spending goes to small businesses and women or minority-owned companies, exceeding the company’s 23-percent small business statutory goal.
