Lockheed Martin has won a “Large Prime Contractor of the Year” award as part of NASA‘s Small Business Industry Awards.
The company was recognized for its role in using small businesses and performance in awarding subcontracts to small businesses for work at NASA’sJet Propulsion Laboratory, Lockheed announced Thursday.
“Small business partners bring an array of capabilities that enable our support of NASA JPL, forming an important and deeply valued element of our team,” said Vicki Schmanske, vice president of information technology and security solutions for Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions.
Subcontracts given by Lockheed for work at JPL include the Desktop Institutional Computing Environment program, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and the Mars Odyssey extended mission operations.
