Saab has opened a marketing office in Gaborone, Botswana in a move to further its presence in the sub-Saharan Africa region and add on to company’s offices in South Africa and Kenya.
“With the growing economies in many countries in Africa there is a growing demand for defense and security products,” Jerker Ahlqvist, head of the Botswana office, said Wednesday.
The company said it is also considering other African countries as the Botswana hub will market Saab products and services and work to establish a business relationship between the country and Sweden.
“Botswana has been selected as the third country to open an office in due to its transparent business environment and solid business opportunities for various products in the Saab portfolio,” Ahlqvist added.
