Serco will continue providing management support to Britain’s National Physical Laboratory under a one-year contract extension with the U.K.’s department for business, innovation and skills.
The company will work with the department to transition four universities into a government-owned/contractor-operated business model, Serco said Friday.
Ian Downie, managing director of Serco’s strategic partnerships unit, said the company will aim to help the national measurement office, department and a new partner to transfer responsibilities.
Serco has a longstanding partnership with NPL, which is located in southwest London.
