Harris CapRock Communications launched a very small aperture terminal product that is built to adjust satellite bandwidths for offshore and deepwater communications at this week’s SATELLITE 2014 conference in Washington, D.C.
The Harris subsidiary said Tuesday that the Pulse Advanced VSAT tool uses modem technology and Comtech EF Data‘s Vipersat Management System to reassign or extend satellite bandwidth in real time.
“Customers are looking for unprecedented speed and flexibility in capacity changes,” said Tracey Haslam, president at Harris CapRock.
“Offshore and deepwater communications requirements continue to grow,” she added.
The VSAT tool has a bandwidth management architecture that is designed to allot capacities upon request for applications such as data logging and video streaming.
