CAE will help the city of Ottawa implement a new emergency management information system for agencies to collaborate, share and track information with one another during crises.
As the deal’s prime contractor, CAE’s integrated enterprise solutions unit will integrate Intermedix‘s WebEOC incident management system and Amika Mobile Corp.’s AMS critical communication system to build a new product, CAE said Tuesday.
Gene Colabatistto, CAE group president for defense and security, said the company aims to bring its systems integration experience and help Ottawa plan, prepare and respond to emergency incidents.
The new system will be built to help carry out emergency management activities ranging from prevention and mitigation to response and recovery by connecting Ottawa’s Emergency Operations Centre, Service Command Centre and other agencies.
CAE will train the city’s emergency response personnel on the system and provide software support over three years.
