Matthew Rose will join Fluor Corp.’s board of directors on April 30, when the company will look to his gain from his experience in transportation, logistics and at the “vital intersection” of governmental policy and business development, chairman and CEO David Seaton said Tuesday.
“Matt’s perspectives, gained from his leadership of BNSF Railway, are a welcomed addition to our Board especially as we face more complex and challenging projects,†Seaton added.
Fluor noted that BNSF was picked up by Berkshire in 2010 during him time at the firm, which included 13 years as CEO and 11 as chairman.
Rose currently serves as that firm’s executive chairman and earlier served as its president and chief operating officer after holding a series of executive positions at Burlington Northern and working in the trucking industry.
Rose also holds positions on several other boards of directors, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Association of American Railroads and AT&T.
The Business Council and Business Roundtable member earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and serves as a trustee for Texas Christian University and the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research.
