A group of nonprofit community health centers in the state of New York will use Microsoft‘s Office 365 software and cloud email platform to maintain connections and communications during crises.
Community Healthcare Network works with more than 75,000 patients per year across 11 health centers in four boroughs, Microsoft said Feb. 25.
Catherine Abate, CHN president and CEO, said the organization selected Office 365 to “keep our operations moving forward, and stay in contact with our staff members and other organizations so we can focus on helping patients.â€
CHN also intends to use Office 365 for HIPAA compliance and to manage electronic medical records.
The organization lost on-premise email connectivity during Hurricane Sandy and examined cloud computing tools after the storm dissipated.
