Battelle has donated $15,000 to Florida-based East Lake High School for a science, technology, engineering and math program run through the Career Technical Education initiative.
The Pinellas, Fla.-based school plans to use the donation to upgrade and purchase new equipment for high school and middle school students, Battelle announced Tuesday.
“We think it’s important that companies partner with local educators to produce the next generation of scientists, technology professionals and engineers,†said John Folkerts, president of Battelle’s special operations sector.
“Fostering these skills helps not only our military forces, but will keep our country competitive in a broad range of industries.â€
This grant brings Battelle’s total donations under the CTEF STEM program to $50,000 since 2010.
