Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. and Infoscitex will compete for task orders to perform research and development work in areas of warfighter lethality and combat survivability for the Air Force under a potential six-year, $60.1 million contract.
The Air Force Research Laboratory received three offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract as the 711th Human Performance Wing pushes to use new human interface technology, the Defense Department said Friday.
New technology priorities for the wing include control of remotely piloted aircraft, multi-sensory technologies, new information operation workstations, visualizations and human cognitive monitoring.
The wing intends to apply those ideas in areas such as battlespace visualization, planning, assessment and decision support.
AFRL is obligating $50,000 in fiscal year 2013 research and development funds at the time of award to the contract’s first task order.
