Health research managementThree professors at Purdue University’s colleges of engineering and science will work to develop and commercialize their research projects with around $130,000 in combined funding.

The financial assistance will come from the Trask Innovation Fund, which aims to help faculty and staff further and market their works through the Office of Technology Commercialization, the Purdue Research Foundation said Thursday.

Cagri Savran, associate professor from the School of Mechanical Engineering, received $50,000 for his tumor cells detection and cancer diagnostics study.

Chemistry professor Mahdi Abu-Omar will develop a technology to extract high value chemicals from wood biomass with $50,000 in grant.

Saurabh Bagchi, professor from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received $30,815 for a research project on how to reconfigure cloud computing machines during disruptions.
