vionViON has a Hadoop-based cyber tool for information technology systems management that Rodney Hite, product manager for big data solutions, said is built to address threats to the big data architecture landscape.

The company’s Big Cyber Security platform combines big data technology with traditional methods used to protect information assets and is intended to mitigate intrusions by using flexible analytics tools, Hite said Friday.

Hite said attendees of the Cyberspace Symposium in Colorado Springs suggested big data and big data analytics as the go-to method for combating cyber attacks.

The conference also discussed the different techniques available for response management, including use of intelligence analytics.

Whether in Afghanistan or in the cyber world, approaches to neutralize the threat are the same for all adversaries,” Hite says.

We need to know and understand our adversaries’ capabilities, objectives, TTPs (tactics, techniques and procedures), limitations, possible courses of actions and most likely courses of action,” he adds.

Hadoop-based big data architecture can help provide such insights, according to Hite.

He said that analysis could turn into what ViON envisions as actionable information by breaking down data sets to suggest recognizable patterns, interdisciplinary relationships and data combinations.
