Robert Hoffman, formerly government relations senior vice president at the Washington-based Information Technology Industry Council, has joined Motorola Solutions as corporate VP and government affairs lead.
He will report directly to Mark Hacker, general counsel and SVP of legal and government affairs, and be based at Motorola Solutions’ office in Washington starting in March, Motorola Solutions said Wednesday.
Hoffman previously served as VP of global public policy at Cognizant Technology Solutions and is also a former VP of government and public affairs at Oracle.
The 13-year government sector veteran worked as a policy adviser and speechwriter for four U.S. senators and the governor of California before joining the private sector in 2001.
Hoffman served as legislative director and national security adviser for Sens. Larry Pressler of South Dakota and Mike DeWine of Ohio.
