Oracle and RedZone Robotics have partnered to develop technology for utilities to access, gather and manage data on wastewater and sewage infrastructures, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported Monday.
Stephanie Novak writes the companies seek to integrate Oracle software with RedZone robotics technology to help operators monitor a wastewater system’s performance.
“We’re talking about having all of the information about sewer pipes available to people when they are doing their operational planning,†said Ken Wolf, an executive vice president at RedZone Robotics, according to the report.
Wolf added he believes that collection of data about pipes and sewers could lead to better industry compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency‘s standards.
The companies want the data to provide insights about condition and projected life spans of systems, Novak reports.
