NCS Technologies Inc. has introduced a new computer device that stores user data in a remote server, GCN reported Friday.
John Breeden II writes the Cirrus LT zero-client laptop works to connect a computer system to a data center through a remote workstation card with security protocols such as the Advanced Encryption Standard cryptography and the National Security Agency Suite B ciphers.
The zero-client laptop is built based on Teradici’s personal computer-over-Internet protocol technology, which shrinks and encrypts information at the data center and sends the data across the IP network, according to the report.
Cirrus LT features a Teradici PCoIP processor, a Realtek Ethernet local area network card, a Ralink card and a standard network port and Li-Ion battery, the report says.
Breeden writes the computer also sports a 14-inch display with 1,366 by 768 screen resolution.
NCS Technologies plans to roll out the product to government clients in the second quarter of 2014, the report says.
