FireEye has launched a new cybersecurity product that is built to help users detect threats to computer networks and respond to security incidents in a short period of time.
The Endpoint Threat Prevention suite is designed for use with FireEye’s security platform and features IT tools that FireEye acquired through its $1 billion acquisition of Mandiant, FireEye said Friday.
Manish Gupta, FireEye senior vice president of products, said the company built the technology with the goal to reduce time needed for security analysts to manage potential cyber threats.
“Once a threat has been identified, rapid incident response is the key to preventing the theft of intellectual property, minimizing disruption to the business, and eliminating reputational impact,†Gupta added.
The product works to send automatic security alerts from FireEye’s Multi-Vector Virtual Execution appliance to servers, laptops and shared files..
FireEye also designed the platform to monitor network events continuously and create a timeline of suspected incidents.
The company will demonstrate Endpoint Threat Prevention at the RSA Conference, to be held in San Francisco from Feb. 24 through 27.
